Step back in time to get acquainted with a community that earned Vilnius the title "Jerusalem of Lithuania" and the times that changed the face of Vilnius forever. Walk around the former Jewish quarter, Small & Big Ghettos during WWII looking for traces of the past. Find out where the famous Jewish scholar Vilna Gaon lived and much more from the Jewish history of Vilnius.

Step back in time in 2 hour tour to listen to the stories of “Jerusalem of Lithuania” and Litvaks. Our guides will help you to find the traces of the Jewish history in the Old city of Vilna. Walking around the Big and Small ghettos you will discover the signs of the community which was wiped out from the city during WWII.

Meet our guide in front of the Town Hall to start your acquaintance with the Jewish history in Lithuania. Learn about Mark Antokolsky, a famous Jewish/Russian sculptor and why he has two birth places. Get to the stunning heart of the Old City. Today only the names of the streets remind us about the original citizens. Find the place where the house of Gaon of Vilna once stood and take a look at his bust close by. A few steps from there you will find a Soviet building in the place where the Great Jewish synagogue once stood. See the pictures; hear the stories of that magnificent building that did not survive the WWII.
After this we will cross the German street to get to the Big Ghetto. Si hi to a Jewish doctor Tsemach Shabad and learn what book he inspired.
Now it is the time to get serious and talk more about the WWII and its horrible consequences to Jewish community. Visit the courtyard where Judenrat (Jewish council) worked and get some insights into the movie “Vilna Ghetto”.

After this we will take you to the spot from where you can see the best view of Choral synagogue, the only active synagogue in Vilnius which survived WWII. Learn more about the Jewish community in Lithuania today.

And last but not least, we will take you to the street where the original Yiddish names of the shops could be seen. The tour ends close to the Jewish information center.

Discover Vilnius Old Town to its fullest in 2,5 hour tour with a local guide. We will take you to all of the main attractions, including the Cathedral and the University, and lead you past hidden corners and courtyards that most foreign travelers tend to miss. Along the way your guide will not only share historical facts, but also fun stories about people who lived here long ago. Vilnius has one of the largest surviving medieval old towns in Northern Europe and we want to show you the very best of it!

Meet your guide at the former Gate of the city where all the guests would stop before entering Vilnius a long time ago. See some parts of the Old Wall left and venture into the Old Town. There you will find one of the most famous attractions in Vilnius – Our Lady of Mercy of the Gate of Dawn. Our guides will help you to understand why this site is so important to the city.

Head down to the Town Hall square admiring some impressive architecture along the way. St. Casimir‘s church welcomes us on the right with its gracious crown on the top of the dome and wind chimes in the bell towers. The church represents the history of Vilnius better than any other.

Just a minute away a triangle Town Hall square invites you to adore the buildings around it. From here we will get a bit serious by visiting the former Jewish ghetto. Find the wounds of the Old Town and learn how much Vilnius changed since the WWII. To cheer you up, we will take you to the most appealing part of the Old Town and visit one courtyard with a captivating statue of a lady sitting on a bear.

Walk down the main street in the Old Town full of locals selling their little souvenirs. The guide will take you to the Literatu street where lots of writers are honored by artists in small pieces of art. Just around the corner one of the most beautiful churches in Vilnius is hiding. Learn why everyone likes St Anne‘s church so much.

After this one highlight after another is waiting for you -  Pilies street, Vilnius University, Presidential palace and at last, the Cathedral square.
